Earlier this week there was another clusterfuck on the Fail Road. I was 20 minutes late because of it but it was better than being 2 hours late like thousands of others were, so I will not complain.
What I will complain about is the complete fucking mess that is our mass transportation system here in the New York area. Yes the subway is a marvel of engineering and forethought. Yes, the LIRR and Metro North are useful to bring people to the city over longer distances. All of that I do not dispute.
The system is in horrible condition. The big one has yet to come. One day soon there will be a complete shutdown of the LIRR. It will last for days. Everyone will play the blame game (from the pols to the officials on down). They will have nobody to blame for themselves.
All we can do is be thankful it hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully Congress will do the right thing and get things straightened out here. And Schumer, DO YOUR FUCKING JOB!
